Welcome to Mission Hills
Mission Hills is a residential neighborhood located in the eastern part of Fremont, California. The neighborhood is primarily a residential area, with a mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and apartment buildings.
The Mission Hills neighborhood was developed in the 1960s and 1970s, during a period of rapid growth in the San Francisco Bay Area. The neighborhood was named after the historic Mission San Jose, which is located nearby and was founded in 1797 by Spanish missionaries.
The neighborhood is located near several major shopping centers, including the Pacific Commons (built on 840 acres of the former Fremont Dragstrip/Baylands Raceway Park) which offers a variety of retail, restaurants, movie theaters and big box stores. Mission Hills is also located near several major employers, including the Tesla Factory (built in the old Nummi Plant, the original FORD factory).
The Mission Hills neighborhood is known for its quiet, suburban feel, and its convenient location near major transportation corridors. The neighborhood is located near the I-880 and I-680 freeways, as well as the Fremont BART station, which provides easy access to other parts of the Bay Area.
The neighborhood is also home to several parks and open spaces, including the dog friendly Mission Hills Park and the nearby Mission Peak Regional Preserve, which offer ample opportunities for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. Chuck Herrmann Realtor with the Marinelli Real Estate Team calls the hike to Mission Peak challenging and claims to enjoy the view and the cows you meet along the way.
With peaceful, family-friendly communities like Mission Hills it's no wonder Fremont was named happiest city in America in a February report from WalletHub in 2023 for several years running. Offering a mix of residential, recreational and commercial opportunities, Mission Hills also has historic ties to the nearby Mission San Jose. With an abundance of parks and open spaces as well as its convenient location it is a popular destination for future residents searching for Fremont Real Estate and visitors alike.
