The neighborhood is primarily a residential area, with a mix of single-family homes, and a small number of townhouses.
The Kimber-Gomes neighborhood was developed in the mid 1960s on the Southeast side of Mission Blvd and in the mid 1970s to the Northeast side during a period of rapid growth in the San Francisco Bay Area. The neighborhood was named after two local families, the Kimber and Gomes families who were prominent in the area during the early years of its development.
Kimber-Gomes is known for its quiet, tree-lined streets, and its convenient location near major transportation corridors. The neighborhood is located near the I-880 and I-680 freeways, as well as the Fremont BART station, which provides easy access to other parts of the Bay Area.
Area residents enjoy a healthy life-style and have the option of going to Gomes Park, Mission San Jose Community Park to play basketball or tennis or even joining the Mission Hills Racquet and Swim Club, an exclusive Country Club devoted to providing an unforgettable and exclusive family experience.
Over the years, Anthony Marinelli Realtor explains, “I spent a lot of time in offices at the corner of Mission and East Las Palmas negotiating purchase contracts with agents at the Property Professionals Real Estate office and always enjoyed showing and selling homes in the area.”.
Visit Pacific Commons Shopping Center, built on 840 acres of the former Fremont Dragstrip/Baylands Raceway Park. Pacific Commons is a large retail and mixed use development and an important addition to the area supplying a growing population with restaurants, movie theaters and big box stores. An even shorter distance away is The Fremont Hub, a walkable plaza with many shops and cafes, supermarkets and discount clothing stores.
Overall, the Kimber-Gomes neighborhood is a peaceful and family-friendly community, offering a mix of residential, recreational, and commercial opportunities. Its convenient location and easy access to major transportation corridors make it a popular destination for future residents and visitors alike.
