Welcome to Cherry-Guardino
Cherry-Guardino is a neighborhood located in the northeastern part of Fremont, California. The neighborhood is named after the Cherry-Guardino family, who were early settlers in the area. Its boundaries are essentially Mowry Ave. to the NW, Stevenson Blvd. to the SE and Guardino Dr. to the SW and Mission Blvd to the NE. The Cherry-Guardino neighborhood was developed in the 1960s and 1970s, with most of the homes built between 1965 and 1975. The neighborhood is primarily a residential area, with a mix of single-family homes and townhouses.
The neighborhood is known for its well-maintained homes and quiet streets, and its proximity to a variety of parks and recreational opportunities. With the help of great neighborhoods like this, it’s no wonder why Fremont was named happiest city in America in a February report from WalletHub in 2023 for several years running. The Cherry-Guardino neighborhood is located near several major parks, including Central Park with Lake Elizabeth to the southeast and and the 471 acre Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area to the northwest which offer opportunities for dog walking, hiking, biking, swimming, boating, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Notably, the neighborhood is host to The California School for the Blind (one of only two in the state founded in 1860) is a state public educational institution for blind children, K-12. Its campus is located next to the California School for the Deaf (also one of two in the state founded in 1860 ) a state public educational institution for blind children, preschool - 12.
Cherry-Guardino is located near several major transportation corridors, including I-880 and the Dumbarton Bridge as well as I-680 but also a transportation hub, with a major bus station and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station which provides easy access to other parts of the Bay Area.
Having sold Fremont Real Estate for decades Anthony Marinelli of The Marinelli Real Estate Team has had clients come to the area for jobs at Meta, Lam Research, Apple, Western Digital, Seagate, Boehringer Ingelheim, and ThermoFisher to name a few.
Visit Pacific Commons Shopping Center, built on 840 acres of the legendary Fremont Dragstrip/Baylands Raceway Park. Pacific Commons, an expansive retail and mixed use development was an important addition to the Fremont area supplying a growing population with restaurants, movie theaters, clothing and shoe stores as well as big box stores. (The dragstrip was in operation from 1959 until the end of 1988. Even Evil Kenevil performed here). An even shorter distance away is The Fremont Hub, a walkable plaza with many shops and cafes, supermarkets and clothing stores.
In recent years, the Cherry-Guardino neighborhood has become increasingly diverse, with a large population of immigrants recruited for tech jobs from countries such as India and China to name a few. The neighborhood is also home to a variety of restaurants and shops that reflect its diverse population.
Overall, the Cherry-Guardino neighborhood is a popular destination for those seeking to relocate to a quiet, family-friendly community with convenient access to parks, schools and transportation. Fremont Real Estate - A solid investment.
