Welcome to Brookvale

Brookvale is a neighborhood located in the eastern part of Fremont, California. The neighborhood is bordered by Fremont Boulevard to the South, Paseo Parkway to the north, Decoto Road to the east, and Thornton Avenue to the west.

The Brookvale neighborhood was originally part of a large ranch owned by the Patterson family in the 19th century. The land was later sold off and developed into smaller properties. The neighborhood gets its name from a small stream that ran through the area.

Brookvale is primarily a residential neighborhood, with a mix of single-family homes and apartments. The neighborhood is known for its quiet streets and well-maintained homes. Brookvale Park, located in the center of the neighborhood, provides recreational opportunities for residents, including playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports fields. Nicole Herrmann Realtor with The Marinelli Real Estate Team says for her, the best feature of Brookvale is from Brookvale Trail Park you can walk or run along greenbelt trails between cul-de-sacs all the way to the Alameda Creek and enjoy miles of trails to the bay in one direction and Niles Canyon the other. Or, cross the creek to 471 acres of Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation area and enjoy  dog walking, hiking, biking, swimming, picnicking, fishing and boating.

The neighborhood is located equidistant to two major shopping centers just a short ride north or south on 880. Union Landing, built on the old Union City Drive In Movie Theater Lot and Pacific Commons built on 840 acres of the former Fremont Dragstrip/Baylands Raceway Park. Both offer a variety of retail, restaurants, clothing and shoe stores as well as movie theaters and big box stores.

Brookvale is located near several major transportation corridors, including I-880 and the Dumbarton Bridge, which provide easy access to other parts of the Bay Area.

In recent years, the Brookvale neighborhood has become increasingly diverse, with a large population of immigrants recruited for tech jobs from countries such as India and China to name a few. Obviously, Fremont as a city wasn’t even on the radar when Cabrillo was built out and here it is considered part of Silicon Valley. Tech companies such as, Meta, Lam Research, Apple, Western Digital, Seagate, Boehringer Ingelheim, ThermoFisher and Tesla to name several, are a short commute.

Overall, Brookvale is a unique neighborhood with a strong sense of community. Its mix of recreational opportunities, and convenient location make it a popular destination for future residents and visitors alike. With neighborhoods like these, it's no wonder Fremont was voted the happiest city in America in a report from WalletHub in 2023 and for several years running. Brookvale Homes are very desirable and usually in short supply.
